Paulina Astete
I was born in Santiago, Chile. Raised in Hollywood, California and now
live in Bali Indonesia. My art is my vision to expand and
communicate. I look to creativity in Nature for inspiration. I use
disparate juxtaposition of different elements. I see the role of the
artist -my role- as a Shaman, as the figure that unites the doctor the
scientist and the art into a single notion of caregiving and
creativity. I am a mystical journeyer who goes into a world unseen
by others and I return to it to others. I paint the unthinkable, the
irrational imagery of the unconscious. I am on an aesthetic adventure.
I am an antenna to the transcendental other. With my uniqueness and
our uniqueness we can redeem the idea that man is good.

Paulina's Cause
A portion of the proceeds will go to the Yayasan Bumi Sehat-Bumi
Sehat Foundation International, a non-profit,
village-based organization of dedicated families, midwives, doctors,
nurses, teachers and volunteers from Indonesia and other countries
around the world. Bumi
Sehat runs two by-donation community health centers in Bali and Aceh,
Indonesia that provide over 17,000 health consultations for both
children and adults per year.
